New Door Handle

As your taste begins to change, and you wish to provide your kitchen with a stunning and effortless upgrade, there are multiple ways in which you can transform the area without having to change the fixtures. To lend you a helping hand, we have put together a useful guide on how to paint kitchen door handles.

The perfect Kitchen Cupboard Door Handles

To achieve a perfect and professional finish to your kitchen cupboard door handles, you will need the following items:

  • Cleaning thinner
  • Sand paper
  • Dremel
  • Build primer
  • Base coat colour
  • Top coat colour

How To Complete This Project

Firstly, the handles need to be aggressively cleaned using thinner, as this will help to remove any oil or grease on the surface. Once you have completed this, you will need to sand down the handles to remove any debris that has accumulated on the surface of the material. We would recommend using a Dremel to lightly drill/clean out each divet on the handle.

Once the handle has been degreased and is fully dry, you will then need to apply a high build primer to seal the surface and give the top coat of paint something to stick to. You will then need to leave this undercoat to cure until fully dried to ensure the best results for the next step.

When the primer has cured, apply a base coat colour of Interpon Noir Sable Black paint, as this will give your handle a seamless finish once completed, and the results are much more professional. It is important to then leave this to dry before applying the last layer of coating. Once this is dry, you can then apply the final coat topcoat of Satin Lacquer, which will seal the paint and protect the final finish.

As you can see from our photos, using this method can help you to achieve the best results possible, giving you a professional finish that can last a long time.
